How To Promote Your EBay Store For Free

How To Promote Your EBay Store For Free Using The Internet
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Richard_Gilbert]Richard Gilbert

The success or failure of your eBay store ultimately depends on the amount of traffic you generate to it. Listings in your eBay Store will generally receive fewer visitors as they are not displayed at the top of any keyword search results, which is why it is so important to use any method you can to promote your store items. Here are several free and easy methods of promoting your eBay store.

1. Email -

Email can be a great way of getting traffic to your store. It's free and takes almost no additional time to do. If you've been selling on eBay for a while you've probably noticed that you are often emailing customers with invoices and other payment requests etc. Well why not use theses emails as an opportunity to offer them similar items

Using a simple email program such as Outlook Express, you can create a "signature" which will automatically be displayed in every email you send. To do this using Outlook Express click Tools >> Options >> Signatures. Your signature could look something like this:

Get 100s of eBooks for less than a dollar - Visit My eBay Store Here

You could also include this signature in your winning bidder emails if you notify a customer when they have bought an item from you. You could encourage them to buy similar items or offer them an added incentive like a reduced price. If a customer has already bought one item from you, what's to stop them buying another?

2. Blogging -

A "blog" is a sort of online journal or diary that you keep and enter your daily activities. In this blog you can enter your thoughts, ideas, reviews, tasks or anything else you want. The idea is to keep it all related to your specific business. You could for example keep a blog of what you have done today to promote your business. Many sites offer free blogs where you can sign up and include links back to your web site or eBay store.

Keep your blog fresh and up to date by posting frequent entries and you'll find it will soon become an excellent source of free traffic.

3. Articles -

Submitting articles is another excellent way to generate a lot of free traffic to your website or eBay store. There are absolutely hundreds of free article directories on the Internet that only require you to spend a few minutes signing up. Once a member you can then submit as many articles as you wish to your profile. Keeping in mind that these articles should of course be related in someway to the goods you are selling at your eBay store.

The way in which articles allow you to generate traffic to your site is via a "resource box". A resource box is allocated to each article you submit and provides you with the opportunity to include a back link to your site or eBay store. As many of these articles can find their way onto top search engines you'd be surprised at how many views they receive, which in turn will hopefully pass these visitors onto your site.

EBays Tools To Promote Your Store For Free

Use EBays Tools To Promote Your Store For Free
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Richard_Gilbert]Richard Gilbert

It may seem like eBay stores aren't really worth the fees when you consider that the listings don't appear in the main search results on eBay. However, if you spend a little time promoting your store you'll soon find why it can be far more profitable than listing your items as regular eBay auctions. eBay even provide store owners with many free ways to promote and generate traffic to their store, however many sellers don't fully take advantage on these resources. Here are several ways you can quickly and easily promote your eBay store for free.

1. Your "About Me" Page

Each seller on eBay is given the opportunity to create an About Me Page. Most users tend to use this space to generally talk about themselves, such as interests and hobbies which is fine if you are a buyer. However, from a sellers point of view it's a complete waste of advertising space.

If used properly your About Me page can be one of the best ways to promote your store. Your About Me page has different rules and guidelines to the sales page of your auctions. Whereas links away from eBay are generally not allowed on your sales page, they ARE allowed on your About Me page. This means that you can enter links to your own website outside of eBay or perhaps even create a form allowing people to join your newsletter if you run one. Don't worry if you do not have your own site or newsletter as this space can be used to promote your eBay store even further. You could perhaps list items that you will be selling in the near future to keep potential customers interested.

Every eBay user is allocated an "About Me" page so If you do not have one set up yet, I strongly recommend creating one as the rewards can be huge from just a few minutes work. Once set-up, each time a user views your listings they will see an About Me icon next to your username. However, don't just rely on eBay to push traffic to it; also include a few links of your own on your sales page.

2. Other eBay Listings

As previously stated, it's only the regular eBay Auctions and Buy It Now listings that are displayed in the top search results, but that doesn't mean you can't use this traffic to attract attention to your store and other items.

Although eBay kindly inserts as "Visit My eBay Shop" link at the top of each listing, there is no harm is added in a few links yourself. Perhaps at the bottom of your listing you could encourage people to view your other items, for example a little line such as "Click here to view similar items from my eBay Store" would do the trick. You even offer an added incentive such as discounted prices if they bought multiple items from you.

3. Use eBay's Reviews And Guides Section

The reviews and guide section of eBay is growing all the time, however it seems to be only a select number of users that are adding content. And most likely, they will be the ones that are generating all the traffic and auction views.

What's great about this section of eBay is that whenever you add an article, eBay will automatically place a link back to your eBay store at the bottom of the page. Browse over to eBay now for a look at what the reviews and guides section is all about. If you decide to write a short review or guide then make sure it relates to the products you sell in your store.

I hope this article has given you an insight into how with a little work and imagination you can really boost traffic and push customers to your eBay store, without having to spend a penny on any sort of advertising. As with the majority of promotional work, it's all about being creative and trying out new ideas. If one of your ideas doesn't work, then you've not lost anything by trying.

EBay Auction Traffic For Free

How To Increase Your EBay Auction Traffic For Free
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Richard_Gilbert]Richard Gilbert

Way back in 2005 eBay launched a new feature to their site known as Guides and Reviews. This section of eBay is growing all the time as it becomes more popular, however it seems that 99% of sellers still aren't taking full advantage of it's full capabilities and do not understand how you can integrate it with your own business to boost sales.

eBays Guides and Reviews section allows users to share their opinions or expertise on any topic or category they wish. It is a part of eBay that is made by the users, for the uses, and where anyone can contribute.

No matter what your interests or expertise, you can write a guide or review on it. Whether it be a guide on "Creating A Pod Cast" or a review of a recent CD or DVD, another user will want to read it.

As a seller, writing guides will not only show you have great understanding of that product, and show you to be an expert, but they can also generate a huge amount of additional traffic towards your store.

How is this possible? Well, on every review and guide written, eBay will automatically include the details of the author down the right hand panel of the screen. This will include a link to their About Me page, a link to the items they are currently selling on eBay, and also a link to their eBay store should that user have one.

These reviews and guides are then ranked by helpfulness, based on the number of Yes or No votes submitted by other eBay members. A well ranked guide can generate a great amount of traffic to a sellers listings. By checking the traffic report in your store, you can see where your visitors are coming from. It's not unknown to find your guides are generating over 10% - 15% of all visitors to your store.

Writing Guide And Reviews

Firstly, do not be put off at the thought of writing your first guide, it can actually be quite a simple process and it is most definitely achievable. The basic rule is stick to what you know. For example, if you specialize in selling guitars then it should be quite easy for you to write a few reviews of various or guitars and other equipment. Regarding guides, you could perhaps write several "How To Guides" such as "How To Restring Your Guitar" or "How To Replace The Neck" etc.

Try to be creative and always keep your target audience in mind, think about what would interest and attract potential customers. If you concentrate on writing about the products you sell you'll find you can't go far wrong.

Browse over to eBay and choose to view the "most helpful" guides. These are the guides that have been ranked by other users to be the most useful. See how these guides are written, and try to use the same approach when it comes to writing your own. So open a blank document, get writing and I'll guarantee that you will see a boost in your traffic in no time at all.

What Sells Best on eBay

Discover What Sells Best on eBay
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ruth_Hendrickson]Ruth Hendrickson

If you want to be a successful seller and make a lot of money on eBay, you must find hot products that are popular with buyers. Your decision about what items to sell is the most important aspect about your online business.

Many sellers start out by looking around the house and selling items they no longer want or need. Once you find something to sell, you should research the completed listings on eBay to determine what buyers are willing to pay for the item. This will help you price the item correctly to get it sold. During this process of selling things around the house, you just might find a lucrative niche in which to start an eBay business.

The most important technique in listing and selling items is to write an appealing description of the product and include clear, sharp pictures. Many auctions end without selling simply because there was little thought put into the description or the pictures included were out of focus. Buyers who purchase products online judge them by the descriptions and by the pictures provided by sellers, and if either of these are lacking, it will be reflected in sales.

Although eBay is one of the best marketplaces in the entire world, it is not a magical wand. You can make lots of money on the popular auction site, but in order to do so you must master the necessary steps involved in listing and selling products.

Many successful sellers learned how to sell on eBay by trial and error. They didn't become successful overnight but did so by persevering and discovering what to sell and how to sell it.

Of course, there are some popular products in lucrative niches that sell very quickly and for a good profit, and these are the products you should stick with when selling on eBay. It is much better to sell a product in a lucrative niche than to sell an average product.

If you are looking for a way to start making money online Ebay is a very good option. It is one of the most visited websites in the world receiving millions of visitors a day. If you have products listed you will make sales.

In this article I would like to go over the fundamentals that will help you to start selling successfully on Ebay.

I suggest that you go through all the documentation on the Ebay website. This will have most of the information for you to get started. You may even want to read it a few times so that you are very familiar with it.

Once you have become familiar you need to setup an account with Paypal. You need to ensure that you get it verified as this will be how people will actually pay you.

After this have a look to see what is very popular as you will need to focus on these markets to make the most money. You may also want to consider investing in third party software that gives you the actual statistics of sales figures. This will assist you in deciding which markets are the most profitable to get started with.

I suggest that you first start out selling small ticket items. The reason for this is that you need to first build a good feedback rating before you start selling more expensive items. This is the measure of trust that people have in you. So offer exceptional service and you will receive a very good rating.

Finally, once you have a good feedback rating you can start selling more expensive items.
